Position Summary:
As a Commissioning Intern at Glumac, you will gain hands-on learning experience supporting real projects. Commissioning is a quality assurance process that is invaluable to building and infrastructure owners, ensuring that systems and components are installed and operate as intended. This role will give you a chance to experience work both in the office and in the field with hands-on testing of a range of systems improving building performance, energy efficiency, reliability, and occupant comfort. We will teach you how to make sense of two-dimensional drawings through construction site walks, develop and utilize commissioning process documentation, such as pre-functional checklists, functional test procedures, gather asset data from drawings and project submittals, document projects’ construction progress through site observation reports, and assist with the execution and documentation of functional test procedures. You will support real projects that will help you to develop better technical communication and consulting skills with our clients. This will present opportunities to learn about construction project management, building systems and the engineering behind their design, participate in coordination meetings, and learn about the commissioning process.
Along with local site visits, technical seminars, and training, Glumac will connect you with team members to source knowledge and experience, which will create an invaluable network to help you learn, grow, and develop your professional skills. You will have the opportunity to work on existing projects with a range of clients, including global technology companies, local and federal public agencies, and universities with a wide array of system types and varying levels of design complexity.
