Commercial Sector Project/Client Manager
The Opportunity
Tetra Tech is looking for a full-time Commercial Sector Project/Client Manager based in Chicago, IL.
Position Summary
This position is for an individual with a strong technical background in environmental due diligence, site investigation and remediation who is interested in practice growth and business development opportunities while managing and supporting a variety of private sector environmental projects.
The selected candidate will have an existing client base and documented success in managing new opportunities. Candidate will identify and pursue new business opportunities and develop high quality proposal documents. Candidate will work with national and regional staff to create capture strategies to develop new or enhance existing service offerings. Candidate will direct and supervise technical assignments (both field and office) and manage entire projects or specific elements of projects.

- Provide technical support and project management to commercial clients for various due diligence, site investigation and remediation projects.
- Serving as the primary client contact for commercial clients.
- Interface well and develop positive client relationships with new and existing clients.
- Development, implementation, and maintenance of scopes, schedules, and budgets on both the project level and corporate level.
- Prepare proposals with limited supervision.
- Direct the preparation of technical documents and reports.
- Contribute to operations technical excellence and staff development by collaborating with other senior leaders of the operation.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in civil/environmental engineering, geology, or environmental science.
8-15 years of experience.
40-hr HAZWOPER training certification with current 8-hour refresher.
- Customer focused and work well in a team environment.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
- Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations.
- Previous experience with due diligence, hazardous waste site investigations and remediation.
- Previous private or public sector client management success.
- Demonstrated business development acumen.
- Previous project management experience.
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced and entrepreneurial environment.
Mentor and guide staff and grow a high-functioning team.
In addition, the following is required:
Driving on an occasional basis. Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver's license and good driving record is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in civil/environmental engineering, geology, or environmental science.
Certified Hazardous Materials Manager Certification.
Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist license.

Work Environment / Environmental Factors
This position will mostly consist of a hybrid schedule, with office and remote work flexibility.
Project sites may be outdoors within the U.S. during all seasons, including peak summer and winter conditions.
Additional Information
This full-time position requires roughly 25% travel.
Typical work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.
Overtime and night/weekend work will be required on an as-needed basis.
Travel to client sites and other locations to conduct meetings, site visits, etc. will be required.

The Salary Range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000, depending on education, experience, skills, and location.
