Climate Change Manager/Senior Associate
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, economics, environmental sciences, or business administration.
- For Manager 10 years of progressive experience (or 8 years plus a Master's Degree); for Senior Associate 5 years (or 7 years plus a Master's Degree) in the institutional, technical, financial and policy challenges of climate change mitigation in the energy sector (generation, transmission distribution and or sustainable transport)
- Experience providing advisory services on climate change in the energy sector in Africa, Asia or Europe
- Strong analytical skills and experience applying rigorous and science-based methods to assess greenhouse gas mitigation options in the energy sector.
- Familiarity with the UNFCCC process, implementing agencies, countries’ reporting requirements, national determined contributions, emerging carbon markets and carbon tax trends.
- Proven ability to work within a multifunctional organization.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Conveys complex messages/information with confidence and in a clear, concise manner.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in engineering, economics, environmental sciences, or business administration.
- Oral and written communication skills in Portuguese, Spanish or French.
- Knowledge of climate finance sources, risk mitigation instruments, and blended finance
- Experience in the institutional, technical, financial and policy challenges of adaptation and resilience in the energy sector.
- Experience in leading or managing projects (mandatory for the Manager position)
- Experience in different countries.
- Entrepreneurial spirit exhibited through hustle, grit & resilience: flexibility to do whatever it takes, comfort with risk and the unknown.
- High level of self-awareness and humility, with excitement about confronting uncomfortable situations or new challenges.
- Intellectual agility and curiosity, superb analytical skills; problem-solving is your default mode.
