Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. Civil Engineering with a water resource focus or a related field.

  • 5 - 10 years of civil engineering work experience. Advanced degrees may substitute for experience.

  • Education and career interests should be related to one or more of the following areas of civil engineering: storm water management, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, BMP design and construction, channel stabilization and erosion control, cost estimation, environmental regulations, remediation, water balance modelling, heavy earthwork construction, nutrient/metals loading and general water quality.

  • Experience should include civil engineering, hydrologic modeling, hydraulic analysis, and grading and drainage.

  • Strong skills and proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft-based software, including MS Excel, for data analysis.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to summarize scientific data and model outputs in concise, readable language.

  • A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • M.S. in Civil Engineering is preferred.

  • EIT or PE preferred.

  • Proficiency in hydrologic modeling, hydraulic analysis, and civil design programs such as HEC, AutoCAD/Civil3D, SWMM, HY-8, AutoCAD Storm & Sanitary Analysis, etc. desired.

  • Experience or familiarity with other software such as ArcGIS, Global Mapper, and GoldSim is highly desirable.

  • MSHA and/or OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferred, or ability to acquire.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform and lead field data collection and construction and reclamation oversight on state and Federal lands and facilities, commercial and industrial sites including active mines (approx. up to 25% of field work/travel required).

  • Field tasks will include work to be performed outside, and as a result will include working in various environmental factors (weather, altitude, terrain, etc.). This can include remaining stationary for long periods of time, walking, lifting, bending, and traversing uneven terrain.

  • Office-based tasks will include frequent periods of time sitting or standing at a desk and using a computer and other office equipment.

Work Environment / Environmental Factors:

  • Field work in various weather conditions and environmental factors for field oversight, field investigation, and site reconnaissance.

  • Based out Salt Lake City, UT or Henderson, NV office with potential of a hybrid work arrangement, but the candidate must reside within 50 miles of one of the local offices. This arrangement is subject to review and may change at the company’s discretion.

Additional Information:

  • Full-time, Monday through Friday work scheduled (40 hours). Occasionally extended hours may be required based on project and/or client needs.

  • Work will be primarily performed in an office setting and occasionally in a field setting.
