Job Purpose:
Civil/Structural Engineering Technologist having 1-3 years’ experience with a consulting engineering firm and a civil/structural background, to be an integral part of the Design Drafting team, creating comprehensive drawings to effectively communicate Canadian Projects Limited’s designs to its Clients and its Clients’ contractors with the ability to work on several projects simultaneously in a multidiscipline environment.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
1. Drafting Capabilities
- Create drawings and structural models for hydroelectric plants and wind power sites in the renewable energy sector using REVIT and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Use REVIT and AutoCAD Civil 3D with minimal guidance on the use and features of the drafting software and the computer processes of the current version.
- Understand key features of REVIT including foundations, structural framing and reinforcing.
- Understand key features of the CIVIL 3D design module including surface creation/manipulation, alignments, corridors and grading is an asset.
- Understand civil, structural and mechanical drawings and creation of complete drawing packages.
2. Design Capabilities
- Calculate quantity take-offs of concrete volumes, reinforcement, and miscellaneous steel for complex structures.
Qualifications:
· Experience with software such as Arc GIS and RoadEng is an asset.
· Experience with building foundations, concrete structures and reinforcing.
· Experience with steel framing, miscellaneous steel and equipment supports.
