Tech2 Solutions (T2S) is a critical subcontractor on the N3B Los Alamos LLC team and will be providing program management and technical services in support of the ground & surface water monitoring program at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Los Alamos National Laboratory.

 

T2S is a full-service engineering and environmental consulting company with a worldwide reach in the areas of environmental monitoring and remediation, national security, systems engineering, data management and analytics for both federal and commercial customers. 

 

T2S is currently seeking a Civil Engineer (Entry - Mid-level) to design storm-water control structures, provide engineering services to the groundwater remediation and drilling teams, support field construction activities, and perform inspections and assessments for maintenance of existing storm-water control structures. This position requires working to achieve N3B Los Alamos Legacy Cleanup Contract (LLCC) objectives; ensures activities and operations are performed in a safe and deliberate manner; maintains required safety, security and operational training; and facilitates procedural and regulatory compliance. Additionally, this position will make safety and security an integral part of every task including taking the necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or compromises security.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design storm-water controls that manage sediment, erosion, run-on, and runoff at monitoring sites; this includes site evaluations, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, and preparation of drawings in CAD or figures in GIS as appropriate.
  • Support groundwater remediation and drilling teams by providing well pad grading and drainage plans and other engineering services as needed.
  • Project planning, including scope definition, preparation of construction documents, quantity take-offs, cost estimates, scheduling, logistics, and construction management.
  • Storm water control inspections and maintenance assessments.
  • Assistance for procurement of subcontractor services.
  • Support surface water field teams as needed with routine work including telemetry system maintenance, site inspections, sample retrieval, and gauge station maintenance.
  • Provide engineering services for emergent work for entirety of the water monitoring and remediation program as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, or related engineering degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience with both office and field assignments.
  • PE or FE working towards licensure preferred.
  • Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS.
  • Experience with drainage design and floodplain modeling.
  • Familiarity with using MSOffice Suite for spreadsheets and other document types.
  • Client contact and project coordination is required.
  • A Pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state regulations is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
  • Ability to hike up to one mile over varied terrain including canyons.
