Chief of Party for USAID ASEAN Partnership Program
Qualifications:
* Minimum of a master’s degree in international development, economics, public policy, international relations, public administration, law, environmental studies, or another related discipline is required.
* At least 10 years’ project experience working in Southeast Asian countries and/or with the ASEAN Secretariat relating to one or more of the following technical disciplines: international trade, private sector engagement, sustainable economic growth, natural resource management, climate adaptation and resilience public policy, business administration, institutional capacity strengthening and engagement, and/or other relevant technical areas.
* At least 5 years’ experience in a senior management role leading and managing complex development programs and multi-disciplinary teams in ASEAN countries, preferably as a COP for a USAID-funded project or equivalent donor-funded program.
* Proven track record managing multi-disciplinary development programs and teams, engaging effectively with stakeholders, fostering collaborative learning and adaptive management, and promoting gender equity and social inclusion.
* Demonstrated success implementing regional or multi-country programs in similar contexts.
* Strong familiarity with the policy, social, economic, environmental, and cultural context in ASEAN countries.
*Demonstrated commitment to local capacity building of Southeast Asian nationals and/or with ASEAN Member States.
* Experience managing USAID-funded contracts preferred.
*Ability to represent the project and its activities in ASEAN meetings and fora; demonstrated diplomatic skills, meaning experience working in an environment which required frequent negotiations to manage bureaucratic processes.
* Demonstrated leadership in teambuilding and integrity in project management and the ability to hire, train, and supervise local personnel.
* Ability to travel extensively throughout Southeast Asia.
* Professional fluency in English required.
