Our Tetra Tech Brighton. MI location is seeking technicians for infrastructure design surveys, construction support surveys, legal boundary and environmental projects. As a firm designated “essential” for state, county and municipal work, we have remained fully operational during the COVID-19 pandemic, and are continuing with operations in conformance with government health & safety policies. We equip staff with the tools they need to work remotely, independently & safely, while retaining a strong environment of teamwork and sharing of skill sets. For the CAD Technician role, we are looking for candidates who possess (or can quickly develop) the following set of skills:

  • Proficiency with MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD/Civil 3d
  • Understanding of survey data and methods, the interface between raw data processing platforms and CAD, and refinements within CAD
  • Familiarity with various units, datums, and conversions
  • Familiarity with plats, deeds, legal surveys, etc., and proficiency with legal descriptions
  • Analysis of design plans for production of field staking data
  • Ability to meet client requirements for CAD format & content
  • Quality control review of survey deliverables
  • Preparation of boundary survey layouts, site plans, etc.
  • Familiarity with GIS concepts & programs
  • Facility with survey data processing programs (GeoOffice, Infinity, etc.)
  • Work with LIDAR (point cloud) data, both adjustment/refinement, and 3d modeling

To succeed in the Tetra Tech Survey group, it is important to possess the following:

  • 2- year Degree
  • Good communication skills, both in-person and through remote options (email, phone, text, virtual meeting, etc.)
  • Ability to progress through tasks efficiently and independently
  • Ability to absorb training quickly, and pass along skills to other team members
  • Problem-solving skills, both independently and as team
  • Willingness to occasionally take on tasks outside primary job description & roles
  • Punctuality, and willingness to prioritize project/client needs
