CAD Drafter (Lafayette, LA)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers to set up, prepare, and manage construction drawings
Prepare dimensional drawings and modify base files using AutoCAD Civil 3D
Revise and update existing drawings to reflect design changes
Create and maintain electronic file structures and naming conventions in accordance with company standards
Prepare project documents from start to finish with professional-quality output
Manage multiple active projects and meet deadlines efficiently
Adhere to CAD standards (Tetra Tech or client-specific)
Work collaboratively on drawings that meet and exceed client requirements during bid and submittal phases.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Associate degree in CAD Drafting or a related field, or completion of a certified Autodesk Civil 3D training program, plus at least five years of relevant work experience
Proven proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D for civil design, including feature lines, grading objects, survey points, profiles, surfaces, and pipe networks
Experience using Civil 3D labels
Excellent communication skills — interpersonal, listening, oral, and written
Skilled in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and general PC usage
Knowledge of standard drafting practices and procedures
Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage time effectively
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time
Occasional site or office visits may be required to coordinate with project teams or review design documentation
Work is typically performed in a professional office environment using a computer for extended periods, with a moderate noise level.

- Must be a detail-oriented, results-driven individual with a commitment to quality, accuracy, with the ability to organize and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.
- Must possess strong interpersonal and excellent communication (written and oral) skills.
- Strong problem solving, technical, and functional skills with the ability to multi-task and be willing to learn.
- Must be able to work collaboratively and cooperatively, take direction, work well in a team environment, and interact with all levels of management, engineering, systems, operations and field personnel.
- Ability to multitask and demonstrate flexibility in managing multiple projects.
