Bridge Engineer, PE
The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech is seeking a Bridge Engineer to join our Transportation team in Oklahoma City, OK. This role supports the planning, design, and evaluation of bridges and related transportation structures for state and local clients. We are seeking a Professional Engineer (PE) with 5+ years of experience to contribute to impactful infrastructure projects across Oklahoma.

Position Summary:
The Bridge Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, and evaluation of bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and related transportation structures. This position supports plan production, structural studies, and project development activities, and may coordinate with clients, agencies, and subconsultants based on experience level.
Essential Job Functions:
The following duties are considered essential to the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
• Design bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and other transportation structures.
• Perform and/or lead plan production, including 3D modeling and CADD.
• Conduct bridge load rating analyses.
• Utilize structural design software to develop structural evaluation and structure-type studies.
• Prepare quantities, plan notes, technical reports, and cost estimates.
• Conduct site visits to support design and evaluation activities.
• Coordinate with state and local agencies, clients, and subconsultants.
• Support project management, quality oversight, and business development activities commensurate with experience.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license with 5+ years of bridge design and plan production experience.
• Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD and applicable state DOT bridge design standards.
• Experience using MicroStation, OpenBridge Designer, or AASHTOWare BrR. Experience with OpenRoads is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• 5+ years of focused bridge design experience.
• Familiarity with Oklahoma DOT (ODOT) bridge design standards.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to perform site visits and field assessments in varying weather and terrain conditions.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform light to moderate physical activity, including occasional lifting up to 25–30 pounds.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment and engineering software for extended periods.
Work Environment / Environmental Factors:
• Combination of office-based design work and periodic outdoor site visits.
• Occasional exposure to variable weather conditions and active construction environments.
• Moderate noise levels when visiting project sites.

• Employment Type: Full-time.
• Location: Oklahoma City, OK.
• Work Schedule: Standard Monday–Friday business hours with flexibility based on project needs.
• Work Arrangement: Hybrid flexibility may be available depending on project responsibilities.
• Travel: Travel to project sites as needed.
