We are seeking an experienced Automation Technician to support the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automation and control systems for oil & gas and industrial facilities. This role works with PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, SCADA systems, instrumentation, and communication networks to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain automation, instrumentation, electrical, and control systems.
  • Configure and support PLC, RTU, HMI, and SCADA platforms.
  • Perform startup, commissioning, and field support for new and existing facilities.
  • Troubleshoot industrial communication networks and control systems.
  • Calibrate and maintain process instrumentation, including flow, pressure, temperature, and level devices.
  • Support system improvements, documentation, and on-call response activities.

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of automation, controls, instrumentation, or I&E experience in oil & gas or industrial operations.
  • Experience with PLCs, RTUs, SCADA systems, and industrial communication protocols.
  • Knowledge of Emerson ROC, ABB Totalflow, SCADAPack, Allen-Bradley, Ignition, CygNet, VTScada, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop drawings, one-lines, and electrical schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel and support field operations throughout West Texas and New Mexico.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Automation, Electrical Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting production facilities, compressor stations, pipelines, processing plants, or measurement facilities.
  • ISA, NCCER, or other industry certifications.
