Assistant Management Accountant (Part Qualified)
About the Role
The Assistant Management Accountant is a front office finance role reporting to the Finance Manager within a busy but friendly and established Management Accounts team, covering a range of management accounting functions.
A flexible working pattern and attitude is required to meet the demands of the business at key dates in the financial calendar.
The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining such items as bank accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, preparing of journals, weekly reporting, as well as routine and adhoc pieces of financial analysis.
A key aspect of the role will be the development of positive working relationships with other teams such as credit control, accounts payable, and project finance.
The role will include study support towards a relevant chartered accountancy qualification such as CIMA or ACCA.
Role Responsibilities
- Daily/weekly/monthly end-to-end bank reconciliations
- Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparation of monthly journal postings
- Preparation of monthly cost analysis for recharges to projects and overheads
- Preparation or support for weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual management reporting
- Fixed asset analysis and maintenance
- Support with the monthly financial close process, ensuring all deadlines are met
- Support with month end P&L and balance sheet analysis
- Support and assistance with the annual budget and forecast processes
- Actively seek to build, implement, and improve efficiencies in processes
- Provide support during internal and external audits
- Ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required
Requirements
- CIMA / ACCA Part Qualified
- Excellent Excel Skills
- Experience of using computerised financial systems and software
- Good analytical skills and a proactive ability to implement process improvements
- Resourceful, self-motivated, dependable, efficient and detail oriented
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in cross-team working
- A passion and willingness to learn
Desirable Skills
- Management Accounts experience in a similar industry
- Experience with Oracle accounting system
