Responsibilities:
Tetra Tech’s King of Prussia, Pennsylvania office is seeking a mid-level engineer or mid-level geologist with at least 5 years of experience in environmental and remediation-related projects for clients such as USACE, Navy, USCG, Air Force, EPA, PADEP, NJDEP and other state and federal clients. This position supports the execution of projects targeting Department of Defense clients.
• This position provides mid-level engineering, geologic and hydrogeologic technical field support for environmental investigation and remediation projects, primarily in the areas related to geology, hydrogeology, remediation, fieldwork, and data interpretation/presentation
• Experience with remediation investigations at CERCLA, RCRA, and state brownfields sites
• Evaluate geologic and chemistry data to reach sound technical conclusions and present/document findings in project reports using text, figures, graphs, etc.
• Develop and assume responsibility for the execution of basic to moderately complex tasks/projects.
• Plan and oversee/perform hydrogeologic investigations and remediation projects.
• Provide field leadership role and field oversight.
• Lead field testing, multimedia sampling, and other investigation fieldwork.
• Maintain strong skills/capabilities regarding technical areas, especially in the areas of general hydrogeology and groundwater characterization/remediation
• Provide guidance to and mentor junior staff in technical areas (including but not limited to the fields of general geology, hydrogeology, and groundwater characterization/remediation) to build overall technical capabilities of Tetra Tech staff
• Delegate work to ensure key deadlines are met and project team members and design disciplines work together collaboratively and effectively
• Technical report writing and data evaluation tasks.
• Assume task management role based on capabilities and experience.
• Assume supporting technical role for projects and/or programs.
• Assume supporting roles in proposals and project management task.
• Monitor Health and Safety aspects of projects and recommend changes as necessary.
• Monitor Quality Assurance procedures and recommend necessary changes.
• Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
• Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
• Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
• Additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or Environmental Science is required. Advanced degree is a plus.
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience with increasing responsibility in the environmental restoration consulting market required.
• Professional license (e.g., PG or PE) is preferred.
• 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training and current 8-hour refresher training are required.
• 8-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER supervisor is plus.
• 10-Hour Construction Training is plus.
• Willingness and ability to travel as needed, approximately 25%.Travel will be mostly local.
• Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills.
• Effective time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• A valid driver’s license and ability to pass an MVR in line with Tetra Tech standards.
• Knowledge of Pennsylvania and New Jersey environmental regulations and guidance is preferred.
• Fractured bedrock experience is preferred.
• CERCLA experience is plus.
• Experience with governmental projects is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills are required.
• Proficiency in delivering technical and business presentations is preferred.
• Successful past performance directing, and supervising subcontractors is required.
• Experience working on and possibly leading the preparation of technical deliverables is required.
This position requires the candidate to be a U.S. Citizen due to the projects they will be working on. This is a hybrid position reporting out of the King of Prussia office. Local candidates will be given priority.

Language & Communication Skills: Must be fluent in the English language – writing and speaking. Ability to read, research, analyze, and interpret technical documents and procedures and government regulations. Assist in writing detailed reports, business correspondence, and procedures suitable for client submittal. Assist in presenting information to groups of coworkers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Other Skills: Experience with technical software including Surfer, LogPlot, AQTESOLV, GIS, and/or CADD are a plus. Experience in Microsoft Windows Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams is preferred.
