Qualifications:
The successful candidate will demonstrate effective management experience and proven experience managing complex programs in Jordan or within the Middle East North Africa (MENA) region. Additionally, the candidate should possess:
* Minimum master’s degree or higher in public policy, climate/environment sciences, urban planning, public policy, finance, international development, engineering, economics, or a related field;
* Minimum ten (10) years of demonstrated progressively responsible experience in the successful implementation of projects focusing on urban development;
* Demonstrated success in managing a team to produce quality results, based on an established work plan that includes written deliverables, live events, analytical and learning exercises, and significant stakeholder engagement with GAM, other GOJ agencies and ministries, private sector actors, and civil society and citizens;
* Experience with the suite of resilience infrastructure options for Amman, including nature-based solutions, green building standards, stormwater infrastructure, and other resilience projects;
* Experience working with private sector actors to realize public infrastructure projects, including offering technical assistance for institutional strengthening, strategic planning, and project development;
* Understanding of the project planning process from the citizens’ perspective, such as consulting and garnering feedback and buy-in at the district level for capital investments and sustainability, climate change resilience and/or migration, water and sanitation, energy, local economic development and/or public financial management;
* Proficiency in English and fluency in Arabic required; and
* Jordanian nationals and especially women are strongly encouraged to apply.
