Are you ready to take the next step in your career? Do you want to do meaningful work that improves quality of life? At Tetra Tech, you will work with high-performing teams who are passionate about using their expertise to find solutions to complex problems in planning, water, environment, infrastructure, resource management, energy, and international development.

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and confident Senior or Principal Planner to join our successful Southampton Planning team, based in our multi-disciplinary offices at the Botleigh Grange Office Campus, Hedge End. You will have a wide ranging role providing planning advice to primarily private sector clients, working on planning applications of various sizes and strategic promotions. A broad planning background is important and applications from experienced planners who are confident, organised and able to coordinate planning submissions are welcomed.

Your Role

We will offer you the opportunity to work on a broad range of interesting projects for a range of clients across the UK but mostly in the southern region. You will work with existing members of the team to assist them in making submissions on planning applications and site promotions and also providing advice directly to clients. We currently have a wide variety of development proposals we are working on from smaller developments up to urban extensions and creating new communities. Over time, you will also develop and manage key relationships with clients, to whom you will provide unrivalled professional advice and ensure that projects are delivered to the highest standard, within agreed fee budgets and timeframes. We offer clients a multi-disciplinary approach from our office and you will gain valuable experience from other colleagues on other aspects of development as part of a wider team.

About You

A Chartered Town Planner, educated to degree level or equivalent and with post-qualification experience, you will bring strong knowledge of the Planning profession. You may have previously worked in a Planning Consultancy and you will have a demonstrable desire to join a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy with a good reputation and high quality clients. You will be very reliable, motivated and energetic, and a strong team player. A confident communicator, you will develop positive business relationships with existing and new clients, deliver the results desired by our clients and thereby contribute to the continuing commercial success of the Southampton planning team.

In return we offer a competitive salary, contributory pension, car allowance, health cover and a range of flexible benefits including retail vouchers, travel insurance and variable holiday (renewable annually). We promote flexible working and are open to discussing the possibility of reduced hours, remote working, flexible start and finish times, compressed hours or potential job share. We have a friendly team that works hard but enjoy spending time together and have a good atmosphere within the office and an active sports and social club (excluding Lockdowns).
