KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

•    Reporting to the national EIA Team Leader.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:


You should have a relevant degree, and preferably also a postgraduate degree, in an environment-related subject. Prior experience of co-ordinating EIAs within a consultancy company, development company or similar organisation and or experience of undertaking associated types of projects is considered to be the minimum requirement. However, experience of preparing climate, sustainability, health assessments would also be highly beneficial as would be linked specialist skills such as Ecology, Acoustics or Air Quality.
Membership of a relevant professional institution such Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment, Institution of Environmental Sciences would be advantageous.

Essential
•    Prior EIA project management experience;
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•    Ability to communicate on appropriate technical and commercial levels internally and to a diverse range of current and potential clients in a highly professional manner.
•    Excellent team working and project management skills.
•    Experience of working in teams and independently with a proactive approach to progressing schemes.
•    Knowledge of relevant legislation and its application
•    Eye for detail to assist in report reviews.
•    Good IT skills including MS Word and Excel.
•    Full driving licence.
•    Relevant degree as a minimum. 
Desirable
•    Experience of writing sustainability, climate, health and/or socio-economic assessments;
•    Experience of Strategic Environmental Assessment or Sustainability Appraisals;
•    Additional specialist skills and experience e.g. in ecology, air quality, noise or archaeology
•    Member of a relevant professional body or working towards it
•    Postgraduate degree

Tetra Tech's environmental planning team based in the UK offers diverse technical and specialist services through project design, planning, and EIA services. The EIA team work on a diverse range of projects across the UK in a number of sectors including residential, commercial, defence and water. The team work on a variety of challenging projects starting early feasibility stages through to planning submission and construction. Working both independently as Impact Assessors or as part of a wider multidisciplinary team, we work with a broad range of clients from private companies and organisations through to local and central Governments, the Ministry of Defence, National Highways and The Crown Estate.

We are a registered Environmental Impact Assessor through IEMA’s EIA Quality Mark scheme, which provides a benchmark for EIA services through peer review.  Our EIA team deliver multidisciplinary services, including project management and environmental impact assessment coordination on projects of difference scales and uses, including regeneration schemes such as Albert Island at Royal Docks and sustainable new communities such as Ashton Green.
