Document Controller / Information Manager

Are you an experienced Document Controller or Information Manager looking to play a key role in delivering technically complex engineering projects? At Tetra Tech, you'll work with multidisciplinary teams across the UK, ensuring project information is managed efficiently, accurately and in line with industry best practice. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative Digital team supporting projects across a wide range of sectors.

 

 

Purpose & Scope of the Role

As a Document Controller / Information Manager, you will be responsible for managing shared, published and archived project documentation within a Common Data Environment (CDE) across multiple projects. You will ensure information is controlled, maintained and exchanged in accordance with company procedures, client requirements and BS EN ISO 19650 standards.

Working closely with project teams and stakeholders, you will maintain project file structures, support information delivery, undertake quality assurance checks, manage document workflows and provide guidance to project teams on the effective use of the CDE. You will also contribute to continuous improvement by promoting best practice across the business.

By maintaining high standards of information management and supporting project teams with digital processes, you will play an important role in improving collaboration, reducing risk and enabling the successful delivery of multidisciplinary engineering projects.

 

 

Core Capabilities

Document & Information Management

  • Manage shared, published and archived documentation within the Common Data Environment (CDE).
  • Maintain document control processes in line with company procedures.
  • Apply document naming conventions and information management standards.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Carry out quality assurance checks on project documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with BS EN ISO 19650 and project information standards.
  • Identify and advise on non-compliant documentation using agreed protocols.

Common Data Environment (CDE) Administration

  • Maintain project file structures, workflows and virtual containers.
  • Support information transfers in accordance with client requirements.
  • Manage document transmittals using Viewpoint for Projects.

Project Coordination & Stakeholder Support

  • Monitor information delivery plans (MIDPs and TIDPs).
  • Ensure documentation is correctly assigned to work packages.
  • Communicate effectively with project teams and stakeholders throughout project delivery.

Continuous Improvement & User Support

  • Provide guidance and training to project teams using the CDE.
  • Capture and share best practice across the Digital team.
  • Support the ongoing improvement of information management processes.

 

 

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

You'll have previous experience as a Document Controller or Information Manager within a construction consultancy or main contractor environment. A strong understanding of BS EN ISO 19650 and experience using Viewpoint for Projects is essential, with knowledge of ProjectWise, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and Microsoft 365 being advantageous. Excellent organisational, communication and attention to detail skills are essential, together with the ability to obtain UK Security Clearance.

 

 

Working Environment

This role can be based from any of our UK offices and offers hybrid working, typically combining office collaboration with home working depending on project requirements. Occasional travel to project meetings or client sites may be required, therefore a full UK driving licence is desirable. Due to the nature of some of our projects, the successful candidate will also need to be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance.
