We have an opportunity for a HR Administrator to join our strong and supportive HR Service Centre team on a 12 month Fixed term Contract. This challenging role offers a wide range of tasks and responsibilities, often changing day to day.

 

The ideal candidate will be resilient, proactive and well organised, with exceptional administrative skills and outstanding attention to detail. Someone who rolls their sleeves up and gets stuck into the task at hand.  

 

You will need to be comfortable managing a high volume of activity with tight deadlines. Good communication skills will be key as you liaise confidently and directly with Tetra Tech colleagues of all levels and disciplines whilst maintaining a friendly and professional manner. 

 

The role reports into the HR Shared Services Manager but you will need to be able to build strong relationships within the wider HR team and across the business. We anticipate that the role will evolve and develop over time and we look forward to supporting your development and progression as part of our strong and committed team.

 

The HR Service Centre is the primary contact for HR queries across the business. You will fulfil a broad range of tasks, providing support and information to colleagues and stakeholders, maintaining secure and accurate records and complying with all relevant policies, procedures and processes.

 

Key responsibilities of the role include:

 

 

  • Accurately inputting, processing and maintaining HR data on systems in line with Data Protection requirements.
  • Maintaining consistent HR records, ensuring accuracy of information in line with Data Protection requirements.  
  • Monitoring fixed term contracts and contract staff end dates, including extensions and terminations.
  • Responding to requests for work experience placements, in line with relevant policy, procedures and process.
  • Responding to requests for references, in line with relevant policy, procedures and process.
  • Accurately producing and distributing appropriate written communications, eg letters, reference requests, emails etc, in line with relevant policies, procedures and processes. 
  • Ensure absences are covered by statements of fitness to work/self-certificates as appropriate, chasing outstanding forms, querying missing information and entering the relevant detail onto the HR system. Collate data for internal audits and annual performance reviews.
  • Basic analysis and reporting on data using Excel spreadsheets.
  • Electronically filing all relevant paperwork in appropriate location/file format. 
  • Supporting HR Business Partners and other members of the HR team as required.
  • Undertaking any reasonable activity in line with the requirements of the role.  

Key requirements for the role include:

 

 

  • High level of customer awareness and commitment to deliver a high standard of service.
  • Ability to understand, interpret and communicate issues to customers and stakeholders.
  • Enthusiastic and well organised with a positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
  • Computer literate with good knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.  
  • An interest in systems and databases.
  • Previous administrative experience.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage own workload.
  • A proactive approach.
  • Good team player.
