Purpose & Scope of the Role
As a Graduate Water Engineer, you'll join a collaborative team delivering technical solutions across a diverse portfolio of water engineering projects. Working alongside experienced engineers and project leaders, you'll contribute to the design, review and delivery of engineering solutions while developing the skills, knowledge and experience needed for a successful professional career.
Your Impact in this Position
From the outset, you'll play an active role in project delivery, supporting engineering design, technical assessments and site investigations. You'll contribute to delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget, engage with clients and stakeholders, and help ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations and best practice. Core Capabilities
Technical Engineering & Design: Support the design and development of water engineering solutions in line with relevant Eurocodes and British Standards. Contribute to technical reviews, design verification and engineering calculations. Utilise engineering software and digital tools to support project delivery.
Project Delivery & Quality: Assist in delivering projects to agreed timescales, budgets and quality standards. Support design reviews and quality assurance processes. Help identify and resolve technical challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
Site Investigation & Data Collection: Participate in site visits, inspections and engineering surveys. Gather and interpret technical information to inform design decisions. Support the development of practical, evidence-based engineering solutions.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with engineers, designers and project teams across disciplines. Build effective relationships with clients, contractors, architects and statutory bodies. Communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
Professional Development & Innovation: Take ownership of your professional growth and development. Embrace new technologies, engineering approaches and industry best practice. Work towards professional registration and chartership.
Training, Qualifications & Experience
You'll hold (or be on track to achieve) a minimum 2:1 degree in a relevant engineering discipline. Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, engineering design software and Microsoft Office is beneficial, as is any industry placement or work experience. Strong communication skills, self-motivation and a commitment to achieving Chartered Engineer status are highly desirable.
