Joining Tetra Tech as a graduate is more than starting a new job – you’ll become part of our Next Gen Talent development programme, designed to support you as you build your career with us. You’ll be supported throughout your development by experienced colleagues, giving you the opportunity to learn, build your network and develop the skills and experience needed for a successful long-term career with Tetra Tech.

Launch your career on projects that help transform brownfield land, protect communities and support a more sustainable future. At Tetra Tech, you’ll work alongside experienced specialists, develop practical consultancy skills and contribute to projects that form part of our ambition to improve the lives of 1 billion people.

Purpose & Scope of the Role

As a Graduate Geo-Environmental Consultant, you will join our Geo team, delivering geo-environmental consultancy services supported by in-house ground investigation expertise. You will work across contaminated land, site investigation, brownfield redevelopment and geotechnical engineering projects for clients in sectors including property and regeneration, defence estates and transport.

Your Impact in this position

You will support the design, procurement, supervision and management of geotechnical and geo-environmental ground investigations. Your work will include desk studies, accurate collection and interpretation of site data, ground gas and groundwater monitoring, assessment of findings and production of detailed technical reports. This is an excellent opportunity to gain varied project experience and build a long-term career within a growing team.

5 Core Capabilities

  • Ground investigation: Support the planning, procurement, supervision and management of geotechnical and geo-environmental investigations across a range of sites and sectors.
  • Geo-environmental assessment: Undertake desk-based studies and develop your understanding of contaminated land, brownfield redevelopment, site investigation and geotechnical engineering.
  • Site data and monitoring: Collect, analyse and interpret site information accurately, including ground gas and groundwater monitoring data.
  • Technical reporting: Produce clear, detailed and well-structured reports that communicate findings and support sound project decisions.
  • Professional development and collaboration: Work effectively both independently and as part of a team, use initiative, build strong communication skills and work towards professional qualification with support from mentors and colleagues.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

You will have, or expect to achieve, at least a 2:1 degree in geology, engineering geology, environmental science or a related subject. Enthusiasm, analytical ability, strong written, communication and presentation skills, and a commitment to professional development are essential. Relevant work experience, such as a placement, is desirable. A full driving licence is required.

Working Environment

Based in London, you will work across office, project and site environments, with travel required to client and investigation sites. Hybrid working is available; however, as this is a graduate role, you will be expected to spend more time in the office initially to support training, mentoring and your transition into the team. As your knowledge, confidence and competence develop, greater flexibility may be available in line with project and team requirements.

Application Closing Date: 31st October 2026
Assessment Centre to be held: February 2027
