Purpose & Scope of the Role

As a Graduate Geo-Environmental Consultant, you will join our Geo team, delivering geo-environmental consultancy services supported by in-house ground investigation expertise. You will work across contaminated land, site investigation, groundwater, environmental due diligence and advisory services for clients in sectors including property and regeneration, defence estates and transport.

Your Impact in this position

You will support the design, procurement, supervision and management of geotechnical and geo-environmental ground investigations. Your responsibilities will include desktop studies, accurate collection and analysis of site data, ground gas and groundwater monitoring, assessment of findings and preparation of detailed technical reports. 5 Core Capabilities

• Ground investigation: Assist with planning, procuring, supervising and managing geotechnical and geo-environmental investigations across a range of sites and sectors.
• Geo-environmental assessment: Develop your knowledge of contaminated land, site investigation, groundwater, brownfield redevelopment, environmental due diligence and geotechnical engineering.
• Site data and monitoring: Collect and analyse site information accurately, including ground gas and groundwater monitoring data, to support robust technical assessments.
• Technical reporting and GIS: Produce clear, detailed reports and use Geographic Information Systems to create, manage and analyse environmental and site information.
• Professional development and teamwork: Work collaboratively, communicate effectively, use initiative and commit to studying towards a professional qualification as your technical capability develops.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

You will have, or expect to achieve, a minimum 2:1 degree in geology, engineering geology, environmental science or a related subject. Enthusiasm for geo-environmental consultancy, strong analytical, written, communication and presentation skills, and a commitment to learning are essential. Relevant experience, such as a work placement, is desirable. You will also need a full driving licence and ideally access to a vehicle.

Working Environment

Based in Belfast, you will work across office, project and site environments, with travel to client and investigation sites required. Hybrid working is available; however, as a graduate, you will spend more time in the office initially to support training, mentoring and your development. Greater flexibility may be available as your knowledge and confidence grow, subject to project and team requirements.
