Assistant Transport Modeller – Leicester
Are you looking to develop your career in transport modelling and work on a wide range of interesting projects? We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Transport Modeller to join our expanding Midlands Transport Team in Leicester, working for a leading technical consultancy with a strong presence in the UK and globally.
Purpose & Scope of the Role
You will support our growing workload, working on a wide variety of transport planning and modelling projects for clients across the private and public sectors.
You will assist colleagues with checking, analysing and preparing data for use in transport models, as well as analysing and summarising outputs for inclusion in client reports. Your work will involve spreadsheets, databases and coding. Working alongside experienced transport modellers, you will receive on-the-job training in modelling-specific software such as VISUM and SATURN.
Your Impact in this position
You will undertake your work with a high degree of diligence and quality, in line with Tetra Tech’s Quality Assurance processes. You will assist colleagues in preparing technical papers and client reports and will need to be well organised and able to manage your time effectively to meet project deadlines.

Training, Qualifications & Experience
You should have a BSc in Mathematics, although a numerate degree in a relevant subject such as Economics or Physics will also be considered. An MSc or PhD in Mathematics, Transport Planning or Engineering, experience using Python, an interest in transport economics and developing project management skills are desirable. A full, clean UK driving licence and ideally access to a vehicle would also be beneficial.
Working Environment
This is a full-time role based in Leicester, requiring at least two days per week working with the team in the Leicester office.
