Tetra Tech’s Disaster Response Division has an exciting opportunity for Certified TRAQ Arborists to support our operations throughout the State of California. Our Arborists will be responsible for the identification of hazardous trees damaged by the fire that impact right of way on county/city-maintained roadways and debris removal on approved private parcels participating in the recovery program.
Other duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- You will be provided with a daily schedule of properties that require evaluation.
- You will be deployed to properties that have enrolled in the debris and hazardous tree removal program due to the wildfire. Only properties participating in this program will be included in your schedule.
- You will collaborate with Registered Professional Foresters.
- As you proceed through your list of properties, you will identify hazardous trees damaged as a result of the fire that impact right of way on county/city-maintained roadways and debris removal on private parcels that are participating in the recovery program. Identified hazardous trees will be measured, photographed, and electronically recorded using tablets or phones provided by Tetra Tech.
- Identification and qualification of potentially hazardous trees will follow standard forestry practice rules.
- You must adhere to permitting and specific environmental guidelines, including considerations for Watercourse and Lake Protection Zones (WLPZ), archaeological significance, and biological concerns.
Qualifications
- 1+ years of Arborist/Arboriculturist experience
- TRAQ Certified Arborist
- Strong organizational skills, excellent communication and attention to detail
- Authorized to Work in the United States
- Ability to work and hike in rugged terrain and inclement weather
- Ability to work 6 days a week, 10-12 hours a day.
