Proposal Summary:
The objective of the South Sudan Peace Building and Independent Media (PBIM) Activity is focused on resolving ongoing communal conflicts to reduce violence and build a sustainable peace by addressing the underlying causes of conflict, promoting reconciliation, and supporting the development of inclusive and resilient communities. To foster reconciliation and trust-building, enhance social cohesion and community resilience, livelihood support, and trauma awareness through community-based initiatives; the activity will target conflict-affected communities across the hot spots with a focus on women, youth, people with disabilities, refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), returnees, ethnic minorities and key stakeholders in communities such as traditional leaders, civil society organizations, and religious leaders.
Position Summary:
MSI is seeking a Technical Advisor to be responsible for conflict mitigation, peacebuilding and trauma awareness and healing portfolio under the South Sudan Peacebuilding and Independent Media (PBIM) Activity project. This individual will oversee development and implementation of peacebuilding activities and coordinate other peacebuilding actors in South Sudan. This will be a full-time position based in Juba, South Sudan. The position is contingent upon award.

Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic vision, management and technical direction of peacebuilding activities.
- Build relationships with relevant local and international stakeholders.
- Collaborate with operations, monitoring & evaluation, grants and other program teams to implement, monitor, and closeout activities.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in international development, peacebuilding, conflict resolution or another relevant field. Eight (8) to ten (10) years of professional experience in implementing peacebuilding and reconciliation related donor funded programs.
- Five (5) years of experience working in South Sudan.
- Excellent community facilitation and coordination skills.
- Strong interpersonal, supervision, and written/oral communication skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
