Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher is required, with studies in relevant subject area(s), such as international development, peace building, violence prevention, or another relevant field preferred.
  • Ten (10) years, or eight (8) with a master’s degree, of progressively responsible professional experience is required to include managing donor funded programs of similar size/scope.
  • Minimum five years of supervisory experience is required.
  • Knowledge of related technical areas such as violence and crime prevention, community resilience, and/or social cohesion, with demonstrated understanding of the Mexican social and political context.
  • Demonstrated capability to develop strong working relationships with a broad range of high-level host country government officials and senior international partner representatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with national and local government counterparts and civil society organizations.
  • Financial management experience required, including budgeting; financial management (tracking, reporting, and accounting); and procurement.
  • Strong experience with USAID rules and regulations.
  • Prior experience in Latin America is required, with Mexico experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, supervision, and written/oral communication skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish is required.
