Stormwater Engineer (mid-level)
Requirements:
- B.S. or M.S. in an Engineering related major.
- 5-8 years’ experience in engineering design for energy-related projects.
- Professional Engineering License or ability to obtain within 1year of hiring is highly desirable.
- VA DEQ Dual Certified Inspector for Erosion and Sediment Control and Stormwater Management, preferred.
- Expertise with renewable energy projects, preferably solar in utility-scale environment
- Understanding of surface water quality, stormwater quality and stormwater management in construction and post construction settings, hydrology, fluvial processes and applicable rules and regulations.
- Experience with planning, designing, construction and maintenance of stormwater infrastructure and BMPs, low impact development projects, and green infrastructure projects.
- Working knowledge of civil and environmental engineering principles.
- Working knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (e.g. HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, AutoCAD, ArcGIS).
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Solid Microsoft (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project) and other software tool skills.
- Demonstrated capabilities in understanding and applying environmental regulations to real-world situations.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well independently and at remote job sites.
- Ability to work on several tasks at any given time.
- Ability to work well with a team.
- Experience working in Virginia is preferred.
