Essential KSAs required (experience, skills, education, certification, etc.): 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in communications, marketing, business, international development, or related field.
  • 10+ years of communications experience with expert-level understanding of USAID communications protocols. 
  • Native fluency in English is required, with strong verbal, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to think, write, and present content in a creative and compelling manner.
  • A high level of experience with and ability to translate technical concepts for general audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing content across digital, print, and social media channels.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work well under pressure and perform numerous tasks simultaneously.
  • Motivated and energetic self-starter with a positive, inclusive, and creative outlook.
  • Proven ability to manage internal and external client expectations.
     

Valued but not required KSAs:

  • Experience working in international development, energy, and/or environment sectors.
  • Experience working in coordination with USAID’s Development Outreach Communications (DOC) Specialists.
  • Fluency in any Central Asian native language, as well as Russian, is a plus.
     

 Line management responsibility:

  • Local communications and gender specialist.
  • Gender consultant.
  • Freelance consultants supporting various communications functions.

 

Physical demands and work enviornment: 

  • Office setting
  • Local and regional travel
