SCADA Engineer -- Denver, CO
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Work in a team setting to develop control system and SCADA designs; including plans, specifications and cost estimates
- Select appropriate instrumentation and operator interfaces based on project requirements and process environment
- Develop block diagrams, control system network and communications systems, schematics, panel layouts and I&C plan drawings
- Program a broad range of process controllers / PLCs / PAC’s including Allen-Bradley, GE, Siemens, Modicon
- Plan and develop SCADA HMI applications in various platforms such as Wonderware (InTouch / System Platform), Allen Bradley (View32/FTView SE/ME), and GE (iFix/Intellution) for stationary and mobile platforms
- Write structured, well-documented, bug-free PLC code in any of the 5 IEC standard languages
- Set up and configure telemetry and network equipment including managed network switches/routers, firewall hardware devices, network radio telemetry equipment, computer NIC cards, PLC Ethernet and proprietary protocol communications cards
- Install, set up and configure alarm dial-out software
- Review Contractor-prepared submittals and shop drawing documents
- Provide on-site start-up and commissioning support as well as on-going support of existing control and SCADA systems
- Write Operations and Maintenance manuals based on developed PLC/HMI code
- Plan and administer Owner training sessions for proper operations and maintenance
- Strong focus on client satisfaction and repeat business, the ability to interface directly with client
- 4-8 years of experience in engineering consulting, with the focus on Control Systems/SCADA integration projects
- Engineer In Training (EIT) or Professional Engineering (PE) certification in Colorado preferred
- Ability to write in advanced control system programming code / scripting such as VBA, C#, SQL, etc.
- Demonstrated experience working with municipal and industrial clients
- Excellent reading and writing skills
- Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets programs
