Requirements:

  • B.S. in environmental sciences/engineering, urban/regional planning, environmental policy, environmental studies, or related field.
  • 7-20+ years of seller/doer experience with strong technical background in permitting energy projects, project management skills and client/stakeholder relationships.
  • Staff leadership experience (Technical Lead, Project Manager, Operations Manager, etc.)
  • Current energy client relationships in the Midwest regional market and a proven track record of winning new work.
  • Strong working knowledge of NEPA and state siting and permitting processes such as Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (MPUC), Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB), or other state siting boards.
  • Experience working with environmental, regulatory and land use agencies, such as: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, Public Service Commissions (PSC) and/or Public Utility Commissions (PUC), state wildlife departments (such as Minnesota Department of Natural Resources), and State Historic Preservation Offices.
  • Experience preparing and submitting budget proposals and recommending subsequent budget changes where necessary.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and presentation skills to convey technical information to clients and business and financial reports to management.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing P&L, creating and maintaining budgets on an operational P&L level.
  • Renewable energy siting and permitting experience for solar, onshore wind, offshore wind, battery energy storage (BESS) projects.

 

Compensation:

Salary commensurate with experience.

Salary Range: $130,000 yr. - $200,000 yr.
