Mid-Level Biologist/Deputy Project Manager – Albuquerque, NM
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field such as biological science, wildlife ecology, environmental studies, or natural resource management.
- 3 – 5 years of professional experience related to wildlife species/habitats, wetland delineations, and ecological assessments.
- Ability and interest in working as part of a team in a fast-paced consulting environment with the capability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- This position requires strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, and high level of interpersonal communication skills, organizational and time management skills, attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Field experience with federal and state special status wildlife and plant species in the Southwest with a focus on Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, and the Intermountain West (Colorado).
- Applied knowledge of ecological assessment, environmental impact analysis, environmental due diligence studies, natural/biological resources management, habitat conservation planning, and wetland delineation.
- Experience with GPS equipment and ArcGIS and its component software (Collector, Survey 1,2,3 and similar) or similar mapping program is preferred.
- Synthesizing and interpreting biological and wetland delineation information and preparing technical reports
- Should have the ability to work independently, communicate clearly and/or work closely with team members located across other offices.
- Demonstrable technical writing/editing ability, commitment to quality in both work processes and products and willingness to assume new roles are critical.
- Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are necessary to perform the responsibilities of this position.
- Prior experience in consulting is desirable.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and be able and willing to travel for field assignments and meetings.
Compensation:
Salary commensurate with experience
Salary Range: $50,000 - $80,000 per year
