EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION:
  • A Bachelor’s or associate degree or certificate Hydrographic Survey, Oceanography, Marine Environmental Science or related field is desired. Equivalent experience and proven experience can substitute for degrees or certification
  • The ideal candidate will have more than 10 years of related experience with some or all the following:
  • Oceanographic Equipment, SonTek and TRDI ADCPS, Trawl Resistant Bottom Mounts, SUBs moorings, and deep-water moorings
  • ADCP transect measurements and streamflow determination
  • CTD profiling and water sample collection
  • Deployment of wave and tide measurement systems
  • Underwater Acoustic Monitoring of construction and marine operations
  • FAA licensed Part 107 Remote Pilot using UAVs to collect aerial imagery for site assessments
  • Experience with Pix4D – UAS Aerial Photogrammetry software
  • Conducting Single-beam and/or multibeam hydrographic surveys with HYPACK
 
OTHER DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Desired Training and Certifications        
  • OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certification (annual currency)
  • STCW Safety training for at sea emergencies. (Fire, First-Aid, survival at seal)
  • First-Aid (First Responder)
  • UAS Remote Pilot (Part 107)
  • Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Office and experience with hydrographic and geophysical survey and charting software packages, including HyPack/HySweep, QINSy, CARIS, POSPac, Fledermaus, ESRI ArcGIS and AutoCAD. Programming skills a plus
  • Must have strong analytical and communication skills and be able to work both independently and on as part of a team
  • Experience towing boats and trailers and working on small boats and large vessels required
  • Willingness to travel for domestic and foreign work, 25% of the year, assignments is required
  • Willingness and ability to work offshore for weeks at a time is required
  • Some physical requirements apply (lifting 50 lbs.)
