EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS (or higher) in science-related field
  • 10 to 15 years of related experience in environmental consulting (field and office)
    •  including site investigations
    • remedial investigations
    • sampling of environmental media (surface water, sediment, soil, groundwater, vapor and air)
    • calibration and use of field equipment (water quality instruments, GPS, PIDs, etc.)
    • pilot testing
    • pump testing
    • remedial system and waste water treatment system O&M, construction management
  • Experience and certifications in EHS-related activities, including experience in leadership role (such as lead for HASP development, routine safety meetings, audits and feedback/root cause analyses).
  • Working knowledge of drilling and sampling methodologies
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and industry standards, especially New Jersey and New York
  • Current OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification (40 CFR 1910.120), OSHA 8-Hour refresher, OSHA 10-Hour Construction, OSHA 8-Hour Supervisor
  • TWIC holder, a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (specifically Word, Excel and MS Project) essential; other programs (Access, PowerPoint, GIS, AutoCAD)
  • Ability to work on multiple projects of various size and scope
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a project team
  • Strong (clear/concise) technical writing and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to oversee and work with subcontractors
 
OTHER DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Ability to obtain certification in EHS field (such as Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)) within year of hire
  • Licensing for remediation system operation (such as N2 License)
  • Certification/training and documented experience in Construction Management
  • Must be able to obtain medical clearance for field work at hazardous waste sites including lifting to 40 lbs. and working for extended periods of time in the field, under hot or cold, humid, and wet conditions
  • Must have a valid driver license and be able to pass the company DMV check to be a Tetra Tech-qualified driver of corporate/rental vehicles
  • Ability to pass background check (as required for project work)
  • Willingness for overnight travel
