N3B is seeking a full time Groundwater Sampling Environmental Professional for the Los Alamos, NM office to support Groundwater Monitoring, Surface Water Monitoring, Drilling, Storm Water Corrective Actions, and/or Remediation Services. Compensation will be determined by relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 
Responsibilities:
  • Collect groundwater samples from monitoring wells, springs, and base flow locations while preparing detailed consistent documentation pursuant to the sampling plan

  • Lead and/or collaborate on a groundwater sampling team to complete field work promptly

  • Maintain quality control throughout the sampling process

  • Comply with all health and safety policies and practices

  • Maintain all groundwater sampling equipment to adhere to N3B quality standards

  • Assist the water program with sampler and Best Management Practices (BMP) inspections and maintenance, construction verifications, and work documentation

  • Perform reporting required by N3B quality standards including preparation of field summary reports and daily summary reports

  • Perform groundwater data analysis

  • Maintain wastewater inventory and database

   Requirements:

  •    Bachelor's degree in watershed science, environmental science, geology, engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to analyze and develop innovative solutions to problems; and recommend approaches for new and improved processes. 

  • Ability to work with broad scopes with latitude to determine the optimal strategy to accomplish the objectives.

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented project environment

  • Ability to perform basic professional tasks.

  • Competency in language, communication, mathematical, and computer skills

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening

  • May require a physical fit-for-duty screen

 Preferred Requirements:

  • Familiarity and experience working with pressure systems (nitrogen tanks)
  • Familiarity with the LANL site and work environment

  • Experience with PFOS sampling protocols
  • Experience with electronics and componentry

  • Ability to attain and maintain a DOE Q clearance

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements (Moderate Work)

  • Good near and far vision is required
  • Required to stand; walk; and use hands to handle equipment, feel, and reach

  • Year-round field work, with exposure to the elements

  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

  • Infrequently required to hike several miles while carrying 20-40 lbs.
