Groundwater Sampling Environmental Professional - Los Alamos, NM
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in watershed science, environmental science, geology, engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience
Ability to analyze and develop innovative solutions to problems; and recommend approaches for new and improved processes.
Ability to work with broad scopes with latitude to determine the optimal strategy to accomplish the objectives.
Ability to work in a team-oriented project environment
Ability to perform basic professional tasks.
Competency in language, communication, mathematical, and computer skills
Valid driver’s license
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
May require a physical fit-for-duty screen
Preferred Requirements:
- Familiarity and experience working with pressure systems (nitrogen tanks)
Familiarity with the LANL site and work environment
- Experience with PFOS sampling protocols
Experience with electronics and componentry
Ability to attain and maintain a DOE Q clearance
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements (Moderate Work)
- Good near and far vision is required
Required to stand; walk; and use hands to handle equipment, feel, and reach
Year-round field work, with exposure to the elements
Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Infrequently required to hike several miles while carrying 20-40 lbs.
