Geotechnical Engineer - Edmonton
Qualifications:
• Minimum of an Undergraduate degree in Geotechnical, Geological or Civil Engineering
• An appropriate postgraduate degree would be an advantage
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a geotechnical engineering capacity is preferred
• Experience in a consulting engineering environment is required
• Experience establishing and maintaining client relationships including business development
• Previous experience in site reconnaissance and investigations to assess site suitability for development of buildings, subdivisions, and slope stability assessments;
• Several years of experience writing internal and external reports and proposals
• Strong people skills and an ability to work in a team environment
• Excellent understanding of finite element analysis
• Previous experience leading, mentoring and coaching team members
• Previous experience using AutoCAD, GeoStudio products and MS Office is required
• Excellent communication skills (both oral and written), teamwork and mentorship skills are essential
• Travel will be required in this position. Candidates must be prepared to undertake field assignments in Northern Canada, including Nunavut, the Northwest Territories, and the Yukon.
• Must be physically capable of performing the required field duties.
• Must possess a valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license (or equivalent)
• Must be registered as a professional engineer by APEGA (or equivalent)
