Environmental Scientist - Parsippany NJ

Requirements:

• B.S. or M.S. in Environmental Science, Biology or related scientific discipline.
• 3 to 5+ years of experience.
• Current OHSA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification (40 CFR 1910.120) and/or CPR and first aid training or be willing able to obtain the certifications in a timely manner
• Experience with field surveys in support of a variety project including Phase I and II site investigations and site remediation investigations.
• Experience with report writing, data analysis and evaluation and tabulation of data for deliverable preparation
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Solid Microsoft (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project) and other software tool skills.
• Must have a valid driver license and be able to pass the company DMV check to be a Tetra Tech-qualified driver of corporate/rental vehicles.
• Ability to pass background check (as required for project work).
• A Pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state regulations is required.
• Willingness for overnight travel essential.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

• Has ability to perform bending, kneeling, standing, and lifting and carrying objects weighing 35 lbs. and have a tolerance for working in outdoor environments, including prolonged walking or standing on various terrain in a wide range of weather conditions.
• Performs manual labor including excavation with shovels. 
• Availability to work extended field rotations (sometimes 10-12 days at a time).
