Engineer, Hazardous Materials – Albuquerque, NM

Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering (mechanical, nuclear, or chemical preferred). 
• Other disciplines if candidate has explosives knowledge) or physical science (chemistry preferred).
• Minimum 5+ years in the examination, testing, and evaluation of explosives working with DOE with a working knowledge of DoD’s hazard classification preferred.
• NNSA experience desirable.
• Working level knowledge of DOE/NNSA programs related to packaging and transportation program, nuclear safety/radiation safety regulations, quality assurance, environmental policies, regulations, directives, and practices.
• DOT hazardous materials training: specifically for explosives is preferred 
• Level of knowledge must be sufficient to interpret and implement program requirements and objectives.
• Training in 49 CFR Hazardous Materials Regulations, including that related to explosives. 
• Must have or be capable of obtaining a DOE Q-clearance.
• A valid driver's license and clean driving record is required for this position.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations and have no criminal record.
