Emergency Manager (Transit Authority)
Qualified candidates will have a minimum 5 years experience in emergency management or public safety with documented success serving transit clients. An understanding of Transportation Security Administration, state and Federal (49 Part 659/674) regulation requirements is preferred. Must be highly motivated, customer focused and work well in a team environment. Must be able to be a self-starter and solutions-orientated worker. Excellent communication (both written and verbal) skills are essential. Must have knowledge of national emergency management trends and transit-system initiatives. Travel, work in client offices, oral presentations, and written report preparation will be required. Candidate will manage project schedules and budgets, will interface directly with clients, and will also assist in marketing, proposal writing, and other business development activities. Must have the ability to work in an unsupervised environment. Must be able to drive a motor vehicle and pass a motor vehicle records check.
Certified Emergency Manager, Physical Security Professional (PSP), Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and/or Master Exercise Practitioner credentials are preferred. DHS Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Program (HSEEP) training is also required.
BS/Masters in Public Administration, Emergency Management, Threat Response, Communications, Political Science or related discipline. Travel is required and varies based on project requirements; may include weekend travel and work.
