Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree relevant to humanitarian work is required, preferably in law, social work, gender studies, social sciences, and international development.
- Minimum five years of experience managing/technical support of international protection/gender-based violence (GBV) programs, including in GBV prevention and response required.
- Experience with protection analysis and strategy implementation, including proven capacity to document, summarize, and analyze protection data and to share information clearly and systematically is required.
- Experience delivering written reports is required.
- Experience using computer/data analysis software, including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and database management systems is required.
- Experience in general protection is an advantage.
- Experience in conducting evaluations or surveys protection and gender mainstreaming; experience on past BHA evaluations or surveys is preferred.
- Experience with emergency response, recovery, and disaster mitigation programming in post-conflict settings is preferred.
- Experience in carrying out fieldwork in South Sudan preferred.
- Strong knowledge of international humanitarian and human rights laws, particularly international standards for protecting IDPs is required.
- Knowledge of age, gender, diversity, and protection mainstreaming is required.
- Knowledge of the social, political, and economic factors affecting rural populations in South Sudan is preferred.
- Strong technical and management skills to manage the budget resources (dollars and staff) for field monitoring visits and assist and support the team with field logistics and meeting arrangements is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including working well with field-based, local staff via telephone and e-mail is required.
- Ability to conducting interviews with the ethnic groups targeted by the project's activities is preferred.
- Strong writing, presentation, and oral language skills in English are required.
