Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in public policy, law, economics, energy, or any other relevant field.
- Five years of experience in regulatory or policy development in the energy sector.
- Strong understanding of regulatory and policy issues related to off-grid energy solutions, including licensing, tariffs, standards, and incentives.
- Experience engaging with government agencies, regulatory bodies, private sector stakeholders, and sector associations in West Africa.
- Proven ability to analyze regulatory frameworks and advocate for policy changes that promote energy access and market development.
- Familiarity with international best practices in off-grid energy regulation and policy development.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with experience in conducting stakeholder consultations, developing advocacy strategies, and facilitating policy dialogues.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software, including MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred but not Required Qualifications:
- A master’s or higher degree in a relevant field
- Experience with USAID-funded projects
- Knowledge of French or local languages is an asset.
