Qualifications: 

  • Advanced degree in public administration, public policy, finance, political science, international development or other relevant field.
  • Ten (10) years of professional experience with at least three years of COP or team leader in a program of similar size and scope, or relevant experience working in governance, stabilization and peacebuilding programs.
  • Knowledge of related technical areas such as private sector engagement, social cohesion, grantmaking, and/or economic development.
  • Demonstrated capability to develop solid working relationships with a broad range of high-level host country governments, and international agencies.
  • Prior experience supervising large teams on donor-funded projects of similar size and scope, preferably funded by USAID.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with national and local government counterparts and civil society organizations.
  • Experience with activity design, development, and implementation.
  • Experience advancing equity and inclusion of women, youth, and other marginalized groups.
  • Prior experience in the region; Mozambique experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, supervision, and written/oral communication skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required; proficiency in Portuguese highly preferred.
