Position and project Summary
USAID Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Activity (the Activity) is designed to ensure USAID’s activities in Jordan achieve their intended results through monitoring and evaluation, strategic assessments, and Collaborating, Learning, and Adapting (CLA). The Activity helps USAID/Jordan create a dynamic learning environment among development actors which is focused on innovation, quality, and knowledge sharing. The Activity provides capacity building, learning opportunities, and trainings to USAID/Jordan Implementing Partners, USAID/Jordan Staff, the Government of Jordan (GOJ), local monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) Organizations, and MEL professionals aimed at building an effective, self-reliant, and sustainable MEL ecosystem in Jordan. Based on identified needs, the Activity team conducts trainings on MEL, organizational development, and other topics as professionals and organizations identify similar needs.
The Activity is currently building a roster of international and local MEL trainers to oversee future trainings that will strengthen the capacity of the GOJ, local firms, IPs, USAID staff, and professionals to implement MEL initiatives. The MEL trainers will support the Activity by delivering trainings using several methods such as classroom, virtual, and working groups, all while applying a “learn-by-doing” approach for different stakeholders in the MEL ecosystem.

Specific Tasks of the Trainer(s)
The USAID Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Activity invites interested experts to apply for this open opportunity to establish a pool of trainers for potential MEL Trainings and workshops covering topics such as:
- Activity Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Plans
- Theory of Change
- Indicators and Performance Indicator Reference Sheets (PIRS)
- Performance Monitoring
- Quantitative Data Collection and Analysis
- Qualitative Data Collection and Analysis
- Data Visualization
- Report Writing
- Strengthening Evaluation Capacity: Skills Building for Evaluation Leaders
- Evaluation and Learning Plans
- Managing Evaluations
- Collaborating, Learning, and Adapting (CLA)
- Causal Logic - Adaptive Management
Under this Scope of Work, the trainer(s) may perform the following tasks:
- Agree with the Activity and USAID/Jordan on the specific objectives of each training course.
- Prepare PowerPoint presentations (training material) in English and/or Arabic (depending on target audiences) to be shared with the Activity for review and delivered during training courses.
- If needed: Review MEL Plans and Performance Indicators to obtain a better understanding of the training needs of each organization, incorporating this information as real-world examples during training PowerPoint presentations and exercises.
- Coordinate with the Activity regarding any specific requirements prior to the training course, such as the need for flip charts, handouts, special stationary, etc.
- In cooperation with the Activity, prepare a Training Evaluation Form based on the agreed-upon training course objectives.
- Deliver the stipulated training courses.
- Develop the training report.

Qualifications:
We are looking for CVs with the following experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in international development or a related field
- Experience with designing and facilitating interactive learning experiences, designing curricula, and using blended learning and innovative technologies
- Experience with adult learning
- Experience in various training delivery methods including web-based and webinars
- Minimum 5 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, and learning including data collection and analysis
- Previous experience with the USAID
- Excellent communication and training skills
- Excellent English and Arabic (if applicable) language skills
