The Position
NDY is seeking a Hydraulic Engineer to join our Perth team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality hydraulic engineering solutions across a range of building projects. This is a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys technical design, working independently, and engaging directly with clients and project stakeholders.
You’ll be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary building services team, with access to experienced specialists across Australia. The role will suit someone who is confident managing their own work, values quality and coordination, and enjoys building strong relationships while contributing to successful project delivery.
We’re looking for someone with solid hydraulic design experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively across project teams.
In this role, you will:
• Design and document hydraulic systems through all documentation phases, including contract administration across a range of projects.
• Manage your own project tasks efficiently while meeting client and project requirements.
• Review technical submissions by contractors and subcontractors and assess construction against specified requirements.
• Engage directly with clients and key stakeholders to manage expectations and resolve issues.
• Liaise with contractors and subcontractors to address construction-related documentation issues.
• Attend site meetings and provide clear reporting on progress, risks, and any items of concern.
Who we’re looking for:
• Experience in hydraulic engineering within the Australian building services industry.
• Strong knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian standards.
• Experience using hydraulic design software, such as H2X.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam and MS Office.
• Understanding of Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks is highly regarded, but not essential.
• Strong documentation, coordination, and design workflow experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence in client and stakeholder engagement.
• A collaborative mindset, strong attention to detail, and the ability to balance technical and commercial priorities.
• Experience in hydraulic design is preferred, however we also welcome candidates with a plumbing trade background who are looking to transition into design.
