Due to continued growth across New Zealand, we’re seeking a mid-level Geotechnical Engineer/Engineering Geologist to join our consulting team in Auckland.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on diverse and technically challenging projects across civil, property, renewables and transport infrastructure.
About the Role
Our Auckland team offers a close-knit and growing environment. You will be joining a strong national geotechnical team, providing ample opportunities for professional growth and development.
Working closely with our senior engineers and technical specialists, you’ll play a key role in delivering:
Planning and undertaking geotechnical site investigations
Geotechnical analysis and interpretation of soil and rock parameters
Foundation design (shallow and deep foundations)
Slope stability, retaining wall and earthworks design
Ground improvement assessments
Preparation of geotechnical design reports and specifications
Construction monitoring and site inspections
Supporting senior staff in detailed design, project management and client liaison
You’ll contribute to projects from feasibility and concept design through to detailed design and construction, gaining exposure across the full project lifecycle. This role offers access to technical expertise, clear career pathways and the opportunity to develop strong design capability within a nationally recognised team.
About You
This is a mid-level role and we’re looking for someone who brings:
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in geotechnical engineering consulting
A relevant tertiary qualification in Civil, Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology
Strong experience in geotechnical investigation, analysis and design
Familiarity with NZ geotechnical standards and practice
Experience preparing technical reports and design documentation
An understanding of soil–structure interaction and foundation behaviour
A collaborative approach and strong attention to detail
Work rights within NZ and a full NZ driver licence
Experience using geotechnical software (e.g. SLOPE/W, PLAXIS, gINT, Settle3 or similar) and/or CAD is highly regarded.
CPEng (or working towards) is advantageous.
